All charities in Suffolk face similar struggles and we try to work together to support each other through these struggles. At a recent networking meeting it was agreed that one way to do this was for us to share opportunities for training. As a result, Family First (and others) were given amazing opportunity to attend the inaugural Home-Start in Suffolk Community Champions Conference. It was such an inspiring day! As the Service Lead, I gained valuable insights that I’ll be sharing with our team and volunteers. Being part of a larger volunteer network across Suffolk and accessing these resources is simply fantastic. We discovered new strategies to better support families and increased our knowledge in order to better support families with specific needs. The breakout sessions, which included things like “meet a SendCo” were incredibly enlightening, and the chance to talk to other volunteers and share stories was heartwarming. A big thank you to Home-Start in Suffolk for organizing this meaningful event. Let’s keep making a difference together, and here’s to more growth and collaboration ahead.
