19th – Trip to Rushmere Mothers’ Union

I was delighted to join the local Mothers’ Union meeting at Rushmere St Andrews church who were keen to hear all about the work of Family First.

After a short service I gave a talk sharing a little of our history and examples of the work we do. Over tea afterwards I was really pleased to be given details of ways the Mothers’ Union could support our families including funding for short breaks/activities. People also shared their knowledge of other useful charities such as The Bluecoat Foundation who can help fund the cost of uniform and PE kit for high school children. I even met a lovely lady who offered to knit for our families if this would be helpful.

So heartwarming to see how we can come together as a Christian community to benefit those around us.

I am also grateful for the donations I was given both from the MU themselves as well as by individuals on the day. This money will go directly to the work of the charity.
